Research into existing magazine posters

Simplistic Poster

This poster is from the recent 'Arctic Monkeys' album 'AM' and the advertising poster was simplistic yet effective and was based on the fact that people knew the logo of the new album as well as the artists name, althought there is no in depth information about when the album is due to hit global stores or if there is a tour along side the release of the album, the simple design featuring the artists name, album logo and relaease date is very effective becuase it leaves fans wanting to know more about the record.

This was also seen with the recent release of Green Days's triple album release, there was little information given about it at first other that three images with each of the album names on them 'Uno, Dos and Tre' this left fans wanting to know more however this isnt commonly linked with my genre it is an effective way to market a product becuase mystery sells the product and later on dates where added to the images so the promotion of the product was done in stages which is common in most modern day artists of any genre.

Tour Promotion Poster

Another way to promote an upcoming album is to do a promotional tour, this is what rock band Young Guns did on the release of their previous studio album 'Bones' and it was a huge success because fans want to hear the brand new music that has just been released and it may prompt them to buy the album there and then if they like what they hear, because this seems to be the most effective way of promoting an album I will be creating a similar product in order to promote my album.

Detailed Advertisement

This advertisement is more detailed than the previous two because it shows specific tracks that are listed alongside when and where the album will be in stores, there is emphasis on the important parts of the advertisement which is done via the use of larger texts and bolder fonts however if there is too much information on a promotion poster I feel that from personal experience that I will forget the information that's why I my product will be simplistic yet promote the product in an effective way.
